Gwyneth Paltrow (Country Strong), Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line), Cameron Diaz (Shrek), Beyoncé Knowles (Dreamgirls), and Andy Samberg (Hot Rod) are in talks to star in musical comedy One Hit Wonders.

Ryan Murphy (Eat Pray Love) is attached to direct from a script he’s set to co-write with regular cohorts Brad Falchuk (American Horror Story) and Ian Brennan (Glee).

Conceived at a dinner attended by Murphy, Paltrow, Witherspoon, and Diaz, One Hit Wonders centres on three passed-their-time singers who decide to form a super group.

Sony Pictures’ co-chairman Amy Pascal will produce, with production expected to begin once Murphy has wrapped on The Normal Heart, starring Julia Roberts (Eat Pray Love), Matt Bomer (In Time) and Jim Parsans (The Muppets).
