Last night James Gunn brought the whole party to Hollywood Boulevard for the world premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The enormous sequel has garnered so very positive word of mouth from early screenings, and our review will go live very early Monday morning. Taking the battle beyond the stars and out into the wider Marvelverse, Vol. 2 is more than just a stepping stone to the gigantic two-part Avengers Infinity War which begins next year.
James Gunn has already said he’ll be back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, however who knows where the team will be at that point. The next few years will see the continuing expanse of the MCU will see Ant-Man and The Wasp, Thor: Ragnarok and this summer’s first solo outing for Tom Holland as Spider-Man. The first Guardians of the Galaxy film brought a much needed levity to the comic book hero world, and the second film should do the same.
The cast for the new film includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillian, Elizabeth Debicki, Pom Klementieff, Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. Most of whom turned up last night for the red carpet.
