Greetings-from-Tim-Buckley-PosterGreetings from Tim Buckley made its debut out in Toronto late last year, and is now finally about to arrive in theatres and On Demand.

With its VOD US release date fast approaching in the middle of the month, Apple have debuted a new trailer for the drama, along with the film’s poster.

In 1991, a young Jeff Buckley (Penn Badgley) rehearses for his public singing debut at a Brooklyn tribute show for his father, the late folk singer Tim Buckley. Struggling with the legacy of a man he barely knew, Jeff forms a friendship with an enigmatic young woman (Imogen Poots) working at the show and begins to discover the powerful potential of his own musical voice. Greetings from Tim Buckley is filled with stirring musical performances and the memorable songs of a father and son who were each among the most beloved singer/songwriters of their respective generations.

A presentation of Focus World, the alternative distribution label of Focus Features, and Tribeca Film.

Penn Badgley takes the leading role here as the young Jeff Buckley, starring opposite Imogen Poots. And the two are joined by Ben Rosenfield, Frank Wood, William Sadler, and singer-turned-actress Kate Nash.

Daniel Algrant (People I Know) is behind the camera, directing from a script he co-wrote with newcomers David Brendel and Emma Sheanshang.

Greetings from Tim Buckley will be released through VOD on April 16th, followed by a limited theatrical release in the US on May 3rd. Still no word yet on when we can expect it to arrive here in the UK. I have a feeling that this might be one we’ll have to wait for on DVD/Blu-ray. Here’s to hoping that it will arrive on our shores before the year’s end.
