This western vampire film seems to combine elements and styles of The Book of Eli, Legion (which makes sense),a dash of underworld and maybe even a hint of vengeance from Inglourious Basterds. If you put all of these films together I think you can imagine the type of film this is and that it may actually be a pretty fun one to watch. The only downside I foresee is the post-conversion of the film to 3-D, I don’t think it will add much to the movie but that’s just me
I will say that the vampires do look a bit odd but the action and weapons look bad ass. I mean come on, there are metal crosses that turn into a ninja star like weapon, which to me is pretty cool. Plus, it’s a Priest riding a freaking motorcycle, when do you ever see that?
In case you were wondering, I have provided the synopsis to the film below:
A warrior priest (Paul Bettany) disobeys Church law by teaming with a young sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a beautiful priestess (Maggie Q). The three band together to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped the priest’s niece before they turn her into one of them.
The film also stars Maggie Q, Karl Urban, and Cam Gigandet and will be released in the spring of 2011
