Broadchurch returns in January, and the UK channel have today released the first full-length teaser trailer! It doesn’t reveal an awful lot about the plot, but it does feature our first look at footage from the show.

The second series of Broadchurch is shrouded in secrecy, but we do know that both David Tennant and Olivia Colman will reprise their roles along with Andrew Buchan, Arthur Darvill, and Jodie Whittaker. New additions include Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James D’Arcy, Eve Myles, Charlotte Rampling, and Meera Syal.

However, this trailer may give us at least a vague idea of where things are going as we hear Ellie Miller (Colman) say, “Where were you both the night those girls disappeared?” Could another killer be on the loose?

The first critically acclaimed run of episodes was also a “Whodunit?” focusing on the mysterious death of a young boy and the relationship between the two detectives who reluctantly worked on the case together.

An American version called Gracepoint which stars David Tennant and Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn has been met with a mixed response despite the fact that creator Chris Chibnall was involved in its development.

ITV also announced that the series two premiere of Broadchurch will air on January 5th, so not long to wait!
