TMNT

There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the upcoming live-action remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, mostly because of rumours at one point that they would be neither teenagers or mutants, and would instead be aliens. There was no truth to any of that, but it hasn’t stopped fans from being wary about this take on the iconic characters.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles), the movie uses motion capture to bring Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Michelangelo (Noel Fisher), Donatello (Jeremy Howard) and Leonardo (Pete Ploszek) to life, while Megan Fox will play April O’Neil and William Fichtner will star as the villainous Shredder.

Today, the first trailer for the movie has been released and it gives us a much better idea as to what we should expect from the Michael Bay produced remake. What do you guys think?

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

Starring Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, and Whoopi Goldberg, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released on August 8th, 2014.
