We caught the awesome first sneak peek at the trailer earlier in the week, swiftly followed by a rather sleek teaser poster, and now the first trailer has arrived in full, and it is brilliant.
“The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.”
Starring alongside Pitt will be Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Lucy Aharish, Matthew Fox, Bryan Cranston, and David Morse, making for a rather brilliant cast.
Marc Forster (Stranger than Fiction, Machine Gun Preacher) is at the helm, directing from a script by Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom), with Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) hired to pen the re-writes for the extended re-shoots.
Behind the scenes, Pitt has also produced the film through his shingle, Plan B Entertainment, alongside Dede Gardner (Killing Them Softly) and Jeremy Kleiner (Kick-Ass), with David Ellison (True Grit) and Oscar-winning Graham King (The Departed) executive producing, making for a brilliant team working to bring the project to the big screen.
World War Z will be hitting hard in the UK and US on 21st June, 2013. I can’t wait. This looks immense. For now, here’s the trailer to show you what we have to look forward to. Enjoy.
