Brad Pitt takes lead in the adaptation of Max Brooks’ World War Z, which is thought to have shifted its setting from post-apocalyptic to pre-apocalyptic, so we’ll all be in the dark as to exactly how things end.
“The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.”
Marc Forster (Stranger than Fiction, Machine Gun Preacher) is at the helm, directing from a script by Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom), with Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) hired to pen the re-writes for the extended re-shoots.
Starring alongside Pitt will be Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Lucy Aharish, Matthew Fox, Bryan Cranston, and David Morse, making for a rather brilliant cast.
World War Z will be hitting cinemas in the UK and US on 21st June, 2013, and is definitely one of the biggest and best films to look forward to next summer. I can’t wait. The full trailer is set to arrive on Thursday, so be sure to come back when it hits.
