I wouldn’t exactly describe the Resident Evil films as guilty pleasures as I don’t generally find much pleasure in them but I find myself watching each film with the vain hope that they might get better. That said I do generally enjoy some elements of the films despite their many flaws.

So it is with a lot of trepidation that I approach the next film in the franchise, Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Today we have a trailer (courtesy of Bloody Disgusting) and I have to say there are some parts of it that look quite fun. The trailer makes a big point out of the fact that the film is in 3D and it even features a few things flying at the camera. It is also mentioned in the trailer that it was shot in 3D and not up-converted like some recent releases, such as Clash of the Titans.

Synopsis: In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.
