Courtesy of Facebook, via The Playlist, we have our first look at Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Savage) in the drama film, Moneyball.

Currently filming in Los Angeles, California, Moneyball is directed by Bennett Miller (Capote), from a script by Stan Chervin.

Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Art Howe, manager of the Oakland Athletics baseball team, and stars alongside Brad Pitt (Inglourious Basterds), Robin Wright Penn (State of Play), Jonah Hill (Get Him To The Greek), Kathryn Morris (Paycheck) and Chris Pratt (Wanted).

The official synopsis for Moneyball is noted below:

Moneyball is the real-life tale of Major League Baseball executive Billy Beane, who built up a winning team despite a decreased budget thanks to his sly use of statistical data to calculate the best — and cheapest — players for his roster.
