Codenamed the NGP (For ‘Next Generation Portable’, it’s a sleeker, shinier version of the current PSP, with proper dual analogue sticks, a touch screen and stylus-aided touchpad and all the power of a PS3.
Set for a ‘late 2011’ release, Sony stopped short of detailing the price although by utilising a brand new game medium (a small flash memory based card), and PS3-level power, we can’t imagine it’s going to be cheap.
No actual gameplay footage was shown, but there were a number of tech demos including Killzone, LittleBigPlanet, WipEout, Resistance and Uncharted Portable.
