Season two of Fargo has so far been excellent, and so it should come as no surprise to learn that FX has now renewed the series for a third season. Airing on Channel 4 in the UK, the first season won an Emmy and Golden Globe, while season two is expected to receive similar awards after almost unanimous critical acclaim since it launched back in October.

Fargo creator and executive producer Noah Hawley is set to return, while Joel and Ethan Cohen (the co-writers of the film of the same name which inspired the TV show) will also be executive producing alongside Warren Littlefield and John Cameron. There’s no word on when season three will air, but chances are that it will be around the same time next year.

It also hasn’t been revealed that what direction Fargo will take, though it’s safe to assume that it will have a new time setting and group of characters based on the first two years.

With season two acting of Fargo as a prequel of sorts to the first though, its hard to say whether it will continue that trend or embark on something completely new and different.

Regardless, after attracting actors like Billy Bob Thorton, Martin Freeman, Kirsten Dunst, and Patrick Wilson, it’s fair to say that we should expect season three to be just as star studded! What do you hope to see in season three of Fargo? Let us know below…
