Eva Green (Casino Royale) has landed the lead female role of Angelique in Dark Shadows, Warner Bros. Pictures’ adaptation of the 1960’s supernatural TV show.

Green will star opposite Johnny Depp (Rango), who was cast as Barnabas Collins last year. Jackie Earle Haley (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Bella Heathcoate (Now) are also in talks to appear.

Tim Burton (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) will direct from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith.

Dark Shadows is fantastical horror tale centering on the life of vampire Barnabas Collins and his run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts.

Green will next be seen in the romantic thriller Perfect Sense, alongside Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting).
