Sharktopus is the upcoming film from SyFy Original Movies which will be produced by B Movie legend Roger Corman. Apparently a project that Corman has been looking to get made for some time, Sharktopus is going straight to TV on the SyFy channel later this year. The first ‘announcement’ about the film came from SyFy movies’ Karen O’Hara’s Twitter account:
Just got off the phone with the legendary Roger Corman who’s doing a new movie for us this year. Yes, it’s the long-rumored SHARKTOPUS!
Today she tweeted more news on the project:

Now you may think I’m insane but I’m really looking forward to seeing Sharktopus. I’m a sucker for B movie schlock and have watched probably far too many SyFy Original movies. If it was just a monster movie where the monster is half shark, half octopus that probably would have been enough to grab my attention but Roger Corman and now Eric Roberts as the Sharktopus creator! This has now overtaken Dinoshark as my most anticipated cross-breed monster movie of the year.
