Emma-StoneOne of the finest actors of her generation, Emma Stone has been brilliantly rising to recognition in recent years, and deservedly so.

After a terrific supporting role opposite Michael Cera and Jonah Hill in Superbad, she soon went on to take leading roles in the likes of Zombieland and Easy A, before cementing her status that much further with Crazy, Stupid, Love. and The Help.

With The Amazing Spider-Man 2 currently shooting out in New York, Deadline reports that Stone is now set to add another film to her upcoming slate, with the actress in talks to join Woody Allen’s next feature.

Allen’s upcoming Blue Jasmine will be hitting theatres this summer, and it looks like he’ll continue to make good on his one-film-per-year minimum that’s been holding steady for a long while now, with Stone now kicking off the casting for his follow-up.

The title of the film remains unknown, along with plot details. But the report notes that the film is set to shoot in the South of France, the same country that was the backdrop of his Oscar-winning 2011 romantic comedy, Midnight in Paris.

Filming is very much underway for Stone on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and the actress is also attached to star in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman, Cameron Crowe’s as-yet-untitled next project, and Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak. And alongside that, she’s naturally expected to return to lend her voice to the recently-announced The Croods 2.

With a busy slate, it looks like we’ve got a lot to look forward to from Stone next year, with at least The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Birdman set to hit the big screen next year. And if talks go well for Allen’s next feature, and we hope they will, then we’ll have another charming romantic-comedy to see her lead. And getting the chance to see her take the lead on a Woody Allen film would certainly be something to look forward to.
