Even though ‘Jungle Cruise’ has not even been released yet, the film’s co-stars Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson are reuniting for the superhero feature ‘Ball and Chain’.

The film is an adaptation of the ’90s comic of the same name by Scott Lobdell and is said to be a superhero story meets ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’, where a couple struggling in their marriage are equipped with superpowers. However, their powers only work when they’re together.

‘The Big Sick’ co-writer Emily V. Gordon has adapted the story.

The project is yet to land at a studio but the frontrunner in this race looks likely to be Netflix.

Johnson will produce under his Seven Bucks banner with Dany and Hiram Garcia. Kevin Misher, who worked with Johnson and Seven Bucks on ‘Fighting With My Family’, will also produce, along with Blunt.

Due to the pandemic, ‘The Jungle Cruise’ has been moved from its original release date of July 24th until next year.

Blunt was last seen in the Disney sequel ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ as the titular character. She will also reprise her role in ‘A Quiet Place II’ which was also pushed back to a September release due to the pandemic.

Johnson was last seen in ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’, His next feature ‘Red Notice’ will see the constantly busy actor, star opposite Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. He is also attached to star in the long-awaited superhero film ‘Black Adam’.
