Pitch Perfect’s Elizabeth Banks is to be reunited with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn 12 years after making Slither together for a new untitled horror movie.
The film, which is being financed and produced by the H Collective has been written by Brian and Mark Gunn. The Hive’s David Yarovesky will take the helm on the project which is due to start filming this spring. Plot details are being kept top secret.
Gunn has stated that after working on Slither together – which told the story of the small town of Wheelsy where not much happens and everyone minds his own business. No one notices when evil slips in quietly but, when people find mutilated livestock and a woman goes missing, Sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion) discovers an alien organism that threatens to devour all life on Earth – he remained friends with Banks.

“Elizabeth and I have been on the same artistic page since we first met when she auditioned for Slither back in 2005,” said Gunn in a statement. “She’s since remained one of my best friends in the world, and I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to work with her again. She’s the perfect partner to Yarvo, the H Collective and myself in creating this very special project.”
Banks has been keeping herself busy of late, after she finished as produced of the last Pitch Perfect 3 outing she also wrapped filming on the Melissa McCarthy movie The Happytime Murders. She will also be taking the helm of Sony’s Charlie’s Angels reboot.
James Gunn is currently working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will help set up the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of Infinity War.
