Access Hollywood are reporting that Eddie Murphy is writing a third installment The Nutty Professor franchise. The first movie, The Nutty Professor, was original, clever, funny and I really enjoyed it although looking on IMDb, it seems that not that many of you thought the same! Then the second was pretty poor with an average 4.3 / 10 on IMDb showing that most people agree with me. Yet here we are with the news that a third movie is on the way.
I guess it’s all about the bottom line though. I mean, these movies are aimed at kids really and they’re not going to be going on IMDb to put their vote in. The first The Nutty Professor brought in $273 million worldwide in 1996, with the sequel (Nutty Professor II: The Klumps) making $161 millionin 2000. 10 years have now passed, Eddie Murphy has finished his Shrek movies and maybe he needs something else to occupy his time.
