Munro Films has released a trailer for the upcoming documentary ‘Don’t Be Prey,’ which offers a look at a remarkable story of endurance, survival, and personal transformation. The film will arrive in cinemas nationwide from 20 March, bringing audiences face-to-face with one of the toughest challenges in open-water swimming.
The documentary plunges viewers into an extraordinary real-life quest as one man sets out to reclaim his life by attempting the Oceans Seven. This elite marathon swimming challenge pushes the limits of human endurance. Spanning five continents and seven treacherous ocean channels, the challenge exposes swimmers to unpredictable currents, freezing waters and the ever-present threat of sharks and jellyfish.
Blending breathtaking locations with raw emotional storytelling, ‘Don’t Be Prey’ explores the physical and psychological toll of long-distance ocean swimming.
The Oceans Seven challenge, created in 2008, is widely considered the swimming equivalent of the legendary Seven Summits mountaineering feat. To complete it, swimmers must conquer seven iconic open-water routes across the globe: the North Channel, the Cook Strait, the Molokaʻi Channel, the English Channel, the Catalina Channel, the Tsugaru Strait and the Strait of Gibraltar.
Directed by Jeff W. Tseng, the documentary features appearances from Tim Denyer, Steven Munatones, Mark Sowerby, Heidi Sowerby, and Bengisu Avci, bringing insight from figures deeply connected to the world of marathon swimming.
