In Doctor Strange’s mid-credits scene, we saw Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder pay a visit to the Sanctum Sanctorum to ask the Sorcerer Supreme for his help in tracking down Odin.

The signs have been pointing to Doctor Strange showing up in Thor: Ragnarok for a while (set photos showed the Asgardian looking for Stephen’s New York home), but it still hasn’t been confirmed that he’ll make an actual appearance. After all, now we’ve seen the two meet, Thor’s next movie could easily just brush over further delving in this encounter!

Or not! Disney’s D23 newsletter has been sent out, and it makes it clear that Strange will indeed show up. In fact, his role in Thor: Ragnarok may be even bigger than expected.

“Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new,” it teases, possibly revealing that we’ll see this trio standing side by side, a sign that Strange does more than offer Thor some advice from the comfort of his chair! This would certainly help set the stage for Avengers: Infinity War, a movie it has actually been made official that the sorcerer will return in.

Expect more to be revealed soon as Marvel kicks off Thor: Ragnarok’s marketing campaign! However, with the movie not set to be released until November, we’ll have to be patient.
