It’s been a long wait, but the first red-band trailer for Deadpool has finally been released.

For a very long time, it didn’t look like the movie was ever going to happen. We have whoever leaked that test footage to thank for Fox giving it the green light, and the Comic-Con trailer also wound up online for at least a few hours after that was captured on someone’s phone. Now though, we finally have a first look at Deadpool in glorious HD!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional (and popular) anti-heroes, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller and set to be released on February 12th, 2016. What do you think about this first look at the movie?
