BAFTA Award-nominated actor David Thewlis is set to star as the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes in Warner Bros Discovery’s crime thriller ‘Sherlock & Daughter.’

In the eight-episode series, Thewlis is an older Sherlock Holmes, less confident and out of his comfort zone. The renowned detective finds himself mysteriously unable to investigate a sinister case without risking the lives of his closest friends.

Meanwhile young American, Amelia (Blu Hunt best-known for The Originals and The Mutants) learns her missing father may be the esteemed detective, after her mother’s shocking and unexplainable murder.

Sherlock battles between his intellect and his emotion when he is confronted with this young woman claiming to be his daughter. Despite wildly different backgrounds and attitudes, Amelia proves herself essential to cracking the case as the pair work together to solve a global conspiracy, the mystery of her mother’s murder and find out for sure if she is Sherlock’s daughter. Will she lead to his redemption?

International Emmy® and BAFTA Award-winning Dougray Scott (A Town Called Malice, VigilCrime) also stars in the series as Holmes’ nemesis, Moriarty.
