‘Bullet Train’ and ‘John Wick’ helmer David Leitch has entered into negotiations to jump on board the next movie in the ‘Jurassic World’ franchise.

Alongside this news comes the update that the movie has a planned release for July 2025. The original ‘Jurassic Park’ screenwriter, David Koepp is already on board to pen the script. Steven Spielberg will serve as an executive producer through Amblin Entertainment.

Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will produce and David Leitch and Kelly McCormick will also produce through 87North.

According to sources, the upcoming sequel is expected to introduce a new storyline to the franchise, which has been around for thirty years. It remains uncertain whether any of the previous actors, such as Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, or Jeff Goldblum, will be making a comeback.

Leitch’s directorial credits include ‘Atomic Blonde,’ ‘Fast & Furious’ spinoff ‘Hobbes & Shaw,’ ‘Deadpool 2’ and this year’s Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling-led action comedy ‘The Fall Guy.’
