Daredevil has been hailed as Marvel’s best comic book adaptation to date, a surprise when you consider both the quality of the movies and the fact that no one had much faith in this new take on the Man Without Fear after the disastrous 2003 movie starring Ben Affleck.
Between the incredible fight sequences and faithfulness to the source material, it was hard not to fall in love with Daredevil, and it was far from a surprise when Netflix and Marvel announced that a second season will reach the online streaming service next year.
Season two is now shooting, and while there are still plenty of surprises to be revealed, two of the biggest to date have been the news that both Elektra and The Punisher will be making their presence felt in Hell’s Kitchen. We’ve already told you all about the latter, but what do you need to know about Matt Murdock’s girlfriend turned assassin before the show returns?
From her complex comic book history to relationships and powers, here you will find everything you need to know about Elektra before she takes on her former flame, Daredevil.
10. She Works For The Kingpin
When Daredevil ended, Wilson Fisk was behind bars. However, you have to imagine he’ll be out sooner rather than later, and even if he’s not, The Kingpin is resourceful enough to run his criminal empire from prison. In the comics, Elektra returns to New York on an assassination mission and soon finds herself under the employ of Fisk.
As a result, she’s obviously forced to go against Daredevil, and both he and Elektra found themselves conflicted when they were forced to fight, and the TV show will no doubt go down this route. Proving that there’s still good in her though, Elektra was actually unable to kill Foggy Nelson for The Kingpin.
