Currently making noise in Berlin for his female gang bank heist thriller 4.3.2.1 Noel Clarke,  star of Kidulthood and director of its sequel Adulthood is currently developing another female fronted drama, this time set around the 2012 Olympics.

Clarke is to team again with Producer Damian Jones, whose previous work includes both the ‘hood films as well as The History Boys and the Ian Dury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, and the film will centre on a group of female athletes trying to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics.

Clarke has a great take on the gritty side of London’s streets and clearly has the makings of a formidable writer and director. Winning the Bafta Rising Star award in 2009 has allowed Clarke to take on a number of projects, the aforementioned 4.3.2.1 and now Fast Girls.

The 2012 London games will have a defining impact on the UK’s identity and there’s no surprise the U.K. Film Council are on board to develop this film, which is sure be released as the Olympics are about to start.

Noel Clarke will be next seen in Heartless, the trailer of which you can see here.
