Plummer will portray Henrik Vanger, and star opposite Rooney Mara’s Lisbeth Salander, Daniel Craig’s Mikael Blomkvist, Robin Wright’s Erika Berger and Stellen Skarsgard’s Martin Vanger.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is currently in pre-production, with filming expected to commence in October.
Sony will release the film on December 21, 2011.
