Judging by the trailer below for A Late Quartet, this could be the film which once again finds Christopher Walken turning in a reserved, dialled-down performance after years of piling on the ham.

Starring alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener (their third film together, following Capote and Synecdoche, New York) they form part of the title line-up of musicians who are readying a farewell concert, as one of the foursome (Walken) have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Mark Invanir co-stars as the group’s long-time soloist, alongside young British actress Imogen Poots in a film which has been receiving some good notices at this years’ Toronto Film Festival, with Walken, in particular, being singled for praise. Does Oscar recognition await the actor?
