On your marks, get set go!!!!!!!!! Back at the beginning of January, we reported that Disney Pixar where adding two new characters in the form of Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer) and Cruiz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo) to the next instalment of Cars. Lean, mean fast killing machines – well not quite killing but sleeker and faster than Lightning McQueen.

It has now emerged that we have another three newcomers joining Lightning McQueen in the battle of his career and a return vocal performance from Three-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton who lent his voice to Cars 2 as himself.

A full breakdown of the new cars, the vocal cast behind the new characters along with character briefs and images can be found below.

Newcomer number 2 – Nathan Fillion (ABC’s “Castle,” ABC’s “Modern Family”) voices Sterling, a brilliant business car who runs Rust-eze Racing Center—one of the most successful elite training facilities in the country. Newcomer number 3 – Lea DeLaria (Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black”) provides the voice of Miss Fritter, a local legend at the Thunder Hollow Speedway demolition derby. Fritter’s formidable school bus size is intimidating, but it’s her smoke stacks of doom, razor-sharp stop sign and crazy collection of her victims’ license plates that usually steers her opponents in the other direction.

And that all important returning special motor racing legend Lewis Hamilton, lends his voice again to Hamilton, a fully loaded, built-in voice command assistant to high-tech trainer Cruz Ramirez. When Lightning McQueen takes his training off road, Cruz enlists Hamilton’s help to keep the struggling racer on track.

On the new characters director, Brian Fee stated  “We’re introducing some fun and really appealing characters in ‘Cars 3,’ “so we really wanted to find the right voices to help us breathe life into them. We hit a homerun with this group; I couldn’t be happier.”

Disney Pixar certainly are not shy about adding in some new blood to keep this franchise fresh but for exactly how long can Cars keep going before it runs out of fuel?
