Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s 21 Jump Street remake hits cinemas this Friday, and all that we’ve seen from the film so far makes it look like we can expect a lot of fun from this action-comedy.

The pairing of Hill, known for his comedy, and Tatum, known for his action, sounds like a perfect choice, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them each take on their opposite action/comedy parts too.

Yahoo Movies have a great new featurette for the film, entitled ‘Bein’ Cool in School’, in which we see one (guess who) teach the other how to be cool (in school).

“In the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. But they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind.”

Co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who brought us Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, make their live-action debut here from a script by Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), with the Oscar-nominated Hill himself also working on the story.

(Side-note: I love that I can refer to Hill as ‘Oscar-nominated’ – if you missed him opposite Brad Pitt in Moneyball, that comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray this Monday, 19th March, and is definitely one to pick up.)

With Tatum and Hill taking the lead, the supporting cast features the likes of Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Ellie Kemper, and Rob Riggle, and it looks like there’s going to be plenty of fun to be had in cinemas this Friday.

21 Jump Street will be released in the UK and USA this Friday, 16th March, so if you’re looking for a great comedy this weekend, this is probably you’re safest bet. It made its debut at SXSW on Monday to great reviews, and I’m looking forward to it even more than I originally was.
