Safety Not Guaranteed is hands down one of the best and funniest films of the year, and after falling in love with it at Sundance London, I can’t wait to see it again.

The excellent first trailer and poster debuted back in March, and now another great new clip has made its way online through the film’s YouTube channel, giving us a look at its brilliant premise and introducing three of the main players.

“From the producers of Little Miss Sunshine – When an unusual classified ad inspires three cynical Seattle magazine employees to look for the story behind it, they discover a mysterious eccentric named Kenneth, a likable but paranoid supermarket clerk, who believes hes solved the riddle of time travel and intends to depart again soon. Together, they embark on a hilarious, smart, and unexpectedly heartfelt journey that reveals how far believing can take you.”

Aubrey Plaza is front and centre, with Mark Duplass starring as the mysterious Kenneth, alongside Jake M. Johnson (New Girl), Karan Soni, Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), and Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

The film received brilliant reviews out of Sundance at the start of the year, so I made sure I was first in line to see it when the festival came to London in April, and you can read our five-star review of the film here to see why it’s essential viewing.

Colin Trevorrow makes a fantastic feature directorial debut here, with Derek Connolly making an equally impressive debut penning the script. If you’ve missed any of our coverage for the film so far, I’d recommend catching up on it here.

As of yet, there’s still no word on if/when we can look forward to it here in the UK, so it’s possible we may have to wait for it to be released on DVD/Blu-ray – but trust me when I say it will be well worth the wait. (And I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for a theatrical release.)

Safety Not Guaranteed will be released in the US on 8th June with a limited release in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland, before expanding over the next few weeks to open in dozens of cities across the country – if you live in the States, you can click here to find your nearest theatre playing it.
