Hoping that it’s third time lucky for Bridget Jones, Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth reunite for another go around on the titular diarist for Bridget Jones’s Baby.

Helen Fielding’s creation was extremely popular in the late nineties, with our main character and many of her societal pseudonyms becoming adopted by her audience. The film adaptations were broadly popular, thanks to a fine turn from Renee Zellweger and men of the moment Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.

No Grant this time around, instead Patrick Dempsey slots himself nicely into the mix. James Callis and Sally Phillips return, as do Celia Imrie and Jim Broadbent as Jones’s parents.

The cast assembled in London today for the press conference, which we present below in all its glory. Check below for Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, Patrick Dempsey, director Sharon Maguire, Working Title’s Eric Fellner and producer Debra Hayward.

Zellweger talked about coming back, as did Colin Firth who also mentioned the need for a new cast to tell a new story. Eric Fellner also spoke of the desire to tell new stories with the same characters as they aged, noting Richard Linklater’s Boyhood as inspiration.
