We caught a great new trailer for the film back in the spring, and now Warner Bros. have released a blood-soaked new trailer ahead of its French release next month – it’s not officially red-band, but naturally unsuitable for work.
“Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt.
Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.”
Khalfoun is directing from a script co-written by frequent collaborators Alexandre Aja and Grégory Lavesseur (Switchblade Romance), with whom he co-wrote the script on P2, and newcomer C.A. Rosenberg.
Maniac is currently set for release in France on Boxing Day, which sounds like a brilliant way to see out the year at the cinema. Still no word yet on when we can look forward to it here in the UK or US, but here’s to hoping it will be very soon in the New Year. I can’t wait. Elijah Wood is absolutely brilliant, and he looks awesome in this. Whilst we wait, here’s the great new trailer – and one final reminder, it’s very much not suitable for work.
