The countdown has begun with the eagerly anticipated release of sequel Blade Runner 2049 just a few weeks away and to celebrate a new international TV spot has arrived, which you can view in all its Roger Deakins-shot glory below.

Thirty-five years since the original was first released in cinemas, original director Ridley Scott is on producer duties for this one handing the reigns off to Denis Villeneuve, acclaimed filmmaker behind Sicario, Arrival, Enemy and Prisoners.

Ryan Gosling leads the new film as an LAPD officer on the hunt to find out the secrets from the past that could see mankind sent into disarray. Answers may lie with the former “Blade Runner” Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) and his own past.

Here’s the synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Written by Hampton Fancher, one of the writers of the first film, and Michael Green (Alien: Covenant), the film co-stars Ana de Armas (Knock Knock), Robin Wright (Wonder Woman), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2), Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), Mackenzie Davis (The Martian), Lennie James (The Walking Dead) and Academy Award Winner Jared Leto (Suicide Squad).

Blade Runner 2049 opens on October 6th.
