Beautiful Creatures will be heading into theatres for the Valentine’s Day weekend next year, and promises to be a strong contender to take the place in the young adult market left open by The Twilight Saga.
In the past few days, we’ve seen new character posters for rising young stars Alice Englert and Alden Ehrenreich, and now the latest poster has debuted, giving us a good look at Emmy Rossum. We recently saw a new trailer for the blockbuster earlier in the month, and Rossum is clearly going to be a lot of fun to watch in this, showing off her darker side.
“A supernatural love story set in the South, “Beautiful Creatures” tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Alice Englert), a mysterious new girl. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.”
Englert (Ginger & Rosa), Ehrenreich (Stoker), and Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera) are joined by an excellent supporting cast, led by Emma Thompson (Love Actually), Jeremy Irons (Margin Call), and Viola Davis (The Help).
Richard LaGravenese (Water for Elephants) is behind the camera, directing from his own script, adapting the first in the best-selling series of novels by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
Beautiful Creatures is set to hit theatres in the UK and US on 13th February, 2013, perfectly primed for the young romantics heading into theatres for the Valentine’s Day weekend. For now, here’s the latest character poster of Rossum, which you can click through to enlarge.
