From the red carpet of the London Film Festival Premiere of Battle of the Sexes we present our exclusive interviews. The film stars Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Elisabeth Shue, Bill Pullman, Andrea Riseborough, Sarah Silverman, Alan Cumming. The film was directed by Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris from the Simon Beaufoy script.

Returning to the capital following her previous triumph with La La Land last year Stone was eager to talk about the challenge of playing such an iconic figure – particularly when that figure was still around to see her portrayal. We resisted the urge to chat about Back to the Future with Elisabeth Shue and spoke to her about working with Billie Jean King and how the sexual politics of the piece will contribute to a greater social equality.

We also spoke to the legend that is Billie Jean King, and how she saw the film come to be, and her thoughts on looking back at the events of forty years ago.

Scott Davis and Colin Hart were our aces on the carpet – here’s how they got on.

The film will be released in the UK on the 24th of November and in US on the 22nd of September.
