Rian Johnson’s Looper debuted to universal critical acclaim at TIFF last month – you can read our five-star review here – and following its release two weeks ago, has been proving an instant cult-classic and a favourite amongst audiences, doing tremendously well at the box office.

Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt in the terrific leading trio, the sci-fi/action film of the year is still set to open in a handful of territories in the coming weeks, and now an awesome new international poster has surfaced online.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.”

Starring alongside Gordon-Levitt, Willis, and Blunt are Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, Noah Segan, and Garrett Dillahunt, completing the cast nicely.

Writer-director Johnson also recently released a downloadable in-theatre commentary track, separate to the commentary that will be released with the DVD/Blu-ray, for all those interesting in the filmmaking going for a second viewing.

Looper is currently screening in theatres across the UK and US, and if you haven’t seen it yet, I can’t recommend enough how much you should go and see it as soon as possible. To give you a little taste of the awesomeness to expect, here’s the great new international poster, which you can click to enlarge.
