Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have added another major name to the growing cast of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,’ with Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee Anya Taylor-Joy officially joining the highly anticipated Middle-earth adventure.

Taylor-Joy is set to portray Seren, a Sindar Elf of the Woodland Realm who is described as “a trusted and lethal agent of King Thranduil.” The new character will play a key role in the story, bringing a formidable new presence to the legendary fantasy franchise.

The actress joins a cast that blends beloved returning characters with exciting new additions. Andy Serkis is directing the film and reprises his iconic role as Gollum, while franchise veterans Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf, Elijah Wood reprises Frodo Baggins, and Lee Pace once again takes on the role of the Elven King Thranduil.

The film will also introduce several new characters to Middle-earth. Kate Winslet has been cast as Marigol, Jamie Dornan will portray Strider, and Leo Woodall joins the ensemble as Halvard.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’ is expected to explore events set during the timeline of The Fellowship of the Ring, focusing on the pursuit of Gollum and the dangers surrounding his knowledge of the One Ring.

Warner Bros. will release ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’ in cinemas worldwide on December 17, 2027.
