Prime Video has unveiled the first-look images for its adaptation of ‘The Love Hypothesis,’ based on the beloved New York Times bestselling novel by Ali Hazelwood. The romantic comedy is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on September 23, bringing one of BookTok’s most celebrated love stories to screens worldwide.
Based on the bestselling book, ‘The Love Hypothesis’ follows Olive, a brilliant PhD candidate determined to focus on her future in academia. However, when she discovers that her best friend Ahn, played by Rachel Marsh, has fallen for Olive’s former crush Jeremy, portrayed by Nicholas Duvernay, she makes a spontaneous decision that changes everything.
To convince Ahn that she has moved on, Olive impulsively kisses the notoriously intimidating Professor Adam Carlsen. What begins as a desperate act of friendship quickly evolves into a carefully constructed fake relationship, complete with rules, boundaries, and a mutually beneficial agreement. As their arrangement grows more complicated and the lines between pretence and reality begin to blur, Olive finds herself confronting a possibility she never expected: that love may be worth the risk after all.

The newly released images offer fans their first glimpse at Lili Reinhart as Olive Smith and Tom Bateman as Adam Carlsen, the unlikely pair at the centre of the story’s fake-dating romance. Directed by Claire Scanlon, the film promises to capture the charm, wit, and emotional depth that made Hazelwood’s novel a global phenomenon.
Joining Reinhart, Bateman, Marsh, and Duvernay in the cast are Jaboukie Young-White and Arty Froushan.
