Antonio Banderas has become the latest in names to join the highly anticipated fifth instalment of ‘Indiana Jones.’

Banderas, whose role is being kept top secret, joins the already cast Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Kretschmann and Shaunette Renee Wilson. Harrison Ford, who is returning to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist.

In addition, the inimitable John Williams will return to score the film, continuing a musical journey that began 40 years ago with ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’.

James Mangold takes over the directorial reins from Steven Spielberg who will serve as a producer as well as lending his knowledge filled experience in many other aspects of the production.

Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel will also serve as producers alongside Spielberg. Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth and Mangold co-wrote the script.

Production is currently underway. Indy swings into theatres on July 29, 2022.

Banderas was last seen as the villain in ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’, He will also be starring alongside Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg in ‘Uncharted.’ He will next be seen starring opposite Penelope Cruz in the Spanish comedy ‘Official Competition.’
