Following the news that Robert Downey Jr. has joined the cast of Captain America 3 to kick off a big screen adaptation of the Civil War storyline, a new article provides a few more details on what we should expect.

Downey will apparently be shooting for 30 or 40 days, making this a major role and not just a cameo. Captain America 3 is actually being viewed more like an Avengers 2.5, with a team assembling possibly made up of heroes including Falcon, War Machine, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, and The Vision.

That line-up is subject to change of course, and unlike last night’s report, this should all be viewed strictly as a rumour for the time being. They also believe that Chris Evans will not star in Avengers 3, allowing Marvel to bring him back somewhere a little further down the line. Perhaps he’ll sign a new contract?

After all, with Robert Downey Jr. scoring a $40 million payday for Captain America 3, you have to imagine that Evans will at least consider renegotiating his contact for some sort of return. The site go on to reveal that two of the possible titles being thrown around for Captain America 3 are “Fallen Son” and “Civil War”.

Here’s the big news however. The Russo Brothers (who helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and will direct Captain America 3) are in talks to take over the Avengers franchise from Joss Whedon.

They obviously did an amazing job with the last Cap movie, so this makes sense and would allow Whedon to take a break after shooting two Avengers movies practically back to back. What do you guys think?
