Hopkins has yet to finalise the deal, as has the director rumoured to be interested in the project – Sacha Gervasi, whose recent documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil was very well received in 2008. Black Swan scribe John McLaughlin is writing the script for The Montecito Picture Company and hopefully some official word will appear soon.

There is another Hitchcock project currently in production, with Dan Fogler set to play the director in Number 13 with Emily Mortimer and Sir Ben Kingsley for writer/director Chase Palmer. Little is known about the project (to me anyway) but Number 13 was the title of Hitchcock’s first film which was shut down when funding fell apart so it’s safe to assume, given Fogler’s age, that they are setting their film in a far earlier decade than Gervasi’s film.
