Anthony Hopkins takes the lead as one of the best-known filmmakers of all time in Sacha Gervasi’s Hitchcock, which arrives in limited release in the US next Friday.

The film naturally has a level of buzz surrounding it as we head towards the awards season, and after seeing the latest international poster for yesterday, Yahoo Movies have debuted a great new clip from the film, in which Hopkins pitches Hitchcock’s classic suspense/horror, Psycho, to his wife (Helen Mirren).

“HITCHCOCK is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock, and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie PSYCHO.”

Hopkins is joined by an all-star cast, with Mirren starring as his wife, Alma Reville; Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh; Jessica Biel as Vera Miles; Toni Collette as Peggy Robertson; and James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins.

Gervasi (Anvil: The Story of Anvil) is making his feature debut behind the camera, directing from a script by John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan), adapting the original book by Stephen Rebello.

Hitchcock will be given a limited release by Fox Searchlight in the US next Friday, 23rd November. Here in the UK, we’ve a little longer to wait, with its release set for 8th February, but when it comes to Hopkins, he’s always worth the wait. Here’s the new clip to give you a taste of what to expect.
