To celebrate the release of the eagerly-anticipated of IT: Chapter Two, which hits cinemas in the UK and US on Friday, we had the pleasure of sitting down with director Andy Muschietti to chat about the return of Pennywise and the Losers Club.

After the phenomenal success of Chapter One in 2017, which grossed over $700million at the worldwide box office and is still the highest-grossing R-rated horror film of all time, Chapter Two was inevitable and now, finally, the second part is here. Muschietti describes how taken aback he was by the juggernaut success of the first film and the pressures it can cause, but said he was free to make the Part Two he wanted in the remit of the novel. In addition, he tells that despite many fan fantasy casting, which ranged from Chris Pratt, Christian Bale and Chadwick Boseman, it was important to cast the best actors for the Losers, rather than the biggest names.
