The absolutely brilliant first teaser trailer surfaced back in March, giving us a hilarious first look at Steve Coogan reprising his role as the much-loved character. And with just a few more months before its theatrical release, the first teaser poster has now been released.
Alan Partridge has had many ups and downs in his life. National television broadcaster. Responsible for killing a guest on live TV. Local radio broadcaster. A nervous breakdown in Dundee. His self-published book,’Bouncing Back’, subsequently remaindered and pulped.
ALAN PARTRIDGE: ALPHA PAPA portrays the events of the greatest low-to-high-ebb spectrum in his life to date – specifically how he tries to salvage his public career while negotiating a potentially violent turn of events at North Norfolk Digital Radio.
Coogan is joined by a host of familiar and new faces alike for Alpha Papa, with Felicity Montagu, Tim Key, Simon Greenall, Phil Cornwell, Nigel Lindsay, and Darren Boyd returning. And joining them will be Colm Meaney, Anna Maxwell Martin, Monica Dolan, Sean Pertwee, and Dustin Demri-Burns.
Declan Lowney (Alan Partridge on Open Books with Martin Bryce) is behind the camera, directing from a script co-written by Coogan, Armando Iannucci, Peter Baynham, and Neil and Rob Gibbons.
And if you’re reading this in the UK, the film’s official Facebook page has a copy of the teaser poster to give away, as well as an exclusive North Norfolk Digital mug, and all you have to do is share this picture to be in with a chance of winning!
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa will be hitting cinemas on 7th August here in the UK and Ireland. No word yet on a US release date, but here’s to hoping it will be heading across the Atlantic later this year. For now, here’s the first teaser poster. And, in case you missed it, that brilliant teaser trailer again.
