The Bourne LegacyJeremy Renner (The Avengers) takes over from Matt Damon this summer to lead the latest instalment in the Bourne series, The Bourne Legacy.

With its release only weeks away, we’ve already seen plenty to convince us that we should be in for another great ride, and now we’ve got another action-packed new 30-second TV spot to give us a further tease.

“The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.”

Alongside Renner will be a great supporting cast, headed up by Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, and David Strathairn.

And having penned the scripts for the three films to date, Tony Gilroy will be behind the camera for the first time in the Bourne series, directing from a script he co-wrote with brother Dan Gilroy (Real Steel, The Fall).

The Bourne Legacy will hit US theatres on 10th August, followed swiftly by a UK release on 13th August. If you haven’t already, make a note: This looks like a brilliant summer hit.
