In a refreshing change of pace, an 80’s remake is in the works that doesn’t feature four soldiers of fortune, a child learning material arts or a horribly scarred man hunting teens in their sleep.

Variety are reporting that the 1986 comedy relationship drama About Last Night is receiving the remake treatment, with flavour of the month, Will Gluck (director of Easy A), attached as producer.

Director Edward Zwick was behind the original version, which was an adaptation of the David Mamet play Sexual Perversity in Chicago (a somewhat misleading title) and featured some of the decade’s most promising stars – Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Jim Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins. In the film, the Brat Pack duo play a couple who struggle to navigate their way through the trials and tribulations of an intense relationship.

Gluck is a busy chap at the moment. Directing-wise, he has comedy Friends With Benefits (starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis) coming out sometime this summer, and he’s due to begin work soon on an (as yet) untitled comedy, which will star his Easy A star, Emma Stone.
