Naomi Watts (Fair Game) has officially signed on to star in J. Edgar, Deadline have confirmed.
Watts will star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio (Inception), Armie Hammer (The Social Network), Ed Westwick (Chalet Girl), Judi Dench (Nine), Josh Lucas (A Beautiful Mind), Damon Herriman (House of Wax) and Ken Howard (In Her Shoes).
J. Edgar is a biopic on FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, and will focus on his scandalous career and controversial private life as a homosexual and rumored cross dresser.
Clint Eastwood is attached to direct, with a release planned for 2012.
