The Worlds End PosterUniversal have just announced that it has waved the green light in the face of Edgar Wright’s latest film, The World’s End.

We knew that Wright and Simon Pegg had completed the script and when we spoke to Pegg for A Fantastic Fear of Everything he told us that a September shoot was on the cards, that’s now been moved to October but the Deadline reports give fans exactly what they wanted – confirmation that Wright, Pegg and Nick Frost will be completing their Blood and Ice-Cream/Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy.

Where this leaves Ant-Man is anyone guess, perhaps that will follow the end of the world? Frost is currently filming Cuban Fury here in the UK and Pegg finished work on Star Trek 2 a few months ago.

The poster which accompanied the report is ostensibly a list of pubs on the route for the fabled pub crawl, however you know for a fact that every one of these names will have specific meaning along the way.

Here’s the synopsis,

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”
