We got our first good look at Gerard Butler in the upcoming comedy-drama Playing for Keeps this week, when the first trailer and poster landed, along with a handful of new images.

Previously titled Playing the Field, the film sees Butler starring alongside a promising cast, headed up by Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Dennis Quaid, and the ever-brilliant Judy Greer. Following the trailer debut earlier this week, Yahoo Movies have released nine new images, giving us a look at all the main players.

“A charming, down-on-his luck former soccer star returns home to put his life back together. Looking for a way to rebuild his relationship with his son, he gets roped into coaching the boy’s soccer team. But his attempts to finally become an “adult” are met with hilarious challenges from the attractive “soccer moms” who pursue him at every turn.”

Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness) returns behind the camera for his first English-language film since 2008’s Seven Pounds, directing from a script by Robbie Fox (So I Married an Axe Murderer).

Playing for Keeps is heading into US theatres on 7th December this year, in the middle of a heavily-contested awards season, and will be coming to the UK a little later on 1st February, 2013. Whilst we wait, here are the nine new images to enjoy, and as usual, you can click to enlarge.
