2. Chadwick Boseman
Chadwick Boseman may have found himself on the receiving end of an awful lot of praise for his take on Jackie Robinson in 42, but he now needs to take on a part which will give him the sort of mainstream attention to make the 30 year old actor the huge star he deserves to be. While Boseman has been rumoured to be in the running for the title role in Marvel’s Black Panther, Luke Cage would be a role arguably even more suitable for him. Due to the decade that their most recognisable characters were created, Marvel’s doesn’t really have an awful lot of high profile non-white superheroes to make a successful TV show or movie out of, so it’s essential that when they do transfer someone like Luke Cage to a live-action setting, they find the right actor. As someone who has yet to become a high profile star, Boseman would without a doubt bring his A-Game to the role and we would be lucky to see it happen.
